Living next to the Rice Creek chain is wonderful. What it does to your screens is not.

The Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Reserve, Peltier Lake, Centerville Lake and the surrounding wetland shape the housing and, more to the point, shape what ends up on the windows.
The wetland is the story here. Homes near standing water get a volume of insect activity that homeowners further from it simply don't experience — spider webs across window corners, egg sacs tucked in frame channels, and mud dauber nests built into the top corner of a window frame or under a soffit overhang. Washing the glass and leaving all of that in place is the most common half-job we see. We clear webs and nests from frames and corners as part of the exterior service, because leaving them means the glass looks wrong again within a week.
Screens take the worst of it. A screen next to a wetland collects an extraordinary insect load over a season, and that load blocks noticeably more light than the glass does. Every screen comes out and gets washed.
The housing itself is mostly newer — largely 1990s through 2010s, two-storey homes on larger lots with high window counts and a lot of upper-level glass. Big lots mean the ladder work is over lawn and landscape rather than tight to a neighbor, which helps, but two-storey glass is still ground-level work for us via water-fed pole.
Newer homes on newer lots also means irrigation, and irrigation means mineral spotting on ground-floor glass wherever a head is aimed slightly wrong.
